Music has this magical quality. It involves being able to speak to us as people: both individually and as a group.  It also has this unique quality that allows each person to experience the music differently than everyone else. Music is personal, and it is also universal.  This shared experience is quintessential to having it transport us to new (or familiar) worlds together.

Six Appeal

Puns asides, this group of six men have vocal prowess that contests some of the greats.  And, musical perfection aside, they add a touch of comedy that’s sure to capture an audience for all backgrounds. Join Six Appeal, a world-class group, at the MonDak Heritage Center on Thursday, March 28 at 7:00 PM as they perform their electrifying show.   Tickets are affordably $10 - $15. If you are looking for vocal precision, with a touch of roaring laughter then your tickets won’t go to waste.

Home on the Ranch

To get a closer to home feel, you should join Bill Rossiter at the MonDak Heritage Center on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 7:00 PM.  Also using music to juxtapose against some tragic tales, Bill uses music to paint a picture of life in the rural West. It’s not just Bill running the show either, there is an open invitation for audience members to interact and collaborate by sharing their own personal stories.  Take a gander here and get a sense of the community experience.

Mamma Mia!

Perhaps the audience is searching for something more cultural and overseas.  Well, head on over to The Old Armory as Entertainment Inc! Presents Mamma Mia! Tickets are $10 to $20 and shows start at 7:30 PM on April 4, 5, 6, and 11.  The show on April 7 is a afternoon matinee starting at 2:30 PM. For those unfamiliar with the story, Sophie a young girl living on a Greek island is on the brink of her wedding day, the only problem is she doesn’t know who is going to give her away on that special day! Follow Sophie’s journey into her mother’s past as she attempts to demystify the mystery father.

Music, especially intentionally narrative music, often can provide some cathartic release.  And after a moment like that sometimes, it’s best to come home to a spacious bed, curl up, and decompress those emotions.  The Stay Astoria hotels have just the rooms for you, or better yet a fitness centre, pool, and jacuzzi if you really want to let off some steam.
