It is inevitable. It is unavoidable. When someone says December, almost anyone will think about it: Christmas. More generally, the month of December is a month of thankfulness, a month of giving, and a month of the holiday spirit. Though it’s not so obvious, the end of Thanksgiving already marks the start of the holidays.
Hunting season comes to a close, and we put our hunting gear to rest for yet another year. But before that, why not show them off at a little? The Dakota Territory Gun Collectors Association Gun Show comes right to Dickinson. On December 8th and 9th, the gun show will exhibit their pieces for all gun enthusiasts. Surely, it is interesting to see what instruments we use to bring food to the table.
After feasting and enjoying the festivities, it’s time to get serious about the holidays. First stop: ornaments and decorations. The MonDak Heritage Centre will do you no wrong when you drop by on December 11 or 13 to create your own personalized holiday art. Don’t worry about making a reservation, you can just walk in and create your piece. While admission is free and depending on size, this will cost you. Don’t free, this could range only from $15 - $25 a piece.
Okay, maybe making more art is not exactly what you are looking for. After all, we all could sure use a little bit of physical activity before we really pack on the weight in the last two weeks of the year. Funny how that happens. We digress. If you are looking for a little more movement, check out the Bold St Nick’s Fatbike Race. Back for the third year in a row, this loop course race will definitely get you going. On Saturday, December 15, 2018, it returns. Registration varies from $40 to $60 depending on how much you want to participate.
