We are so excited about the slate of family-friendly events taking place in Dickinson this August. Great for kids of all ages, you’ll love attending a cultural festival, a free fair just for kids, and an outdoor movie night showing one of the biggest animated movies of the year. Check out the top three family-friendly events to attend in Dickinson this month.
Hosted by Dickinson State University, this year’s 2nd annual A Taste of Culture festival is taking place on August 7th from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. It will feature shopping, food, games, and a dunk tank for charity. There will also be live music performed on stage, a show by the Las Monarcas Dance Group, and a kid’s trivia contest. The event is free to attend, with specific activities requiring a $10 wristband.
Stark County Fairgrounds is hosting a Kid’s Fair this August. Set to take place on Sunday, August 15th, the fair is entirely free and will feature shows, events, and a kid’s lunch. The only cost to adults is the lunch, but everything else is being provided by the Fair Association and the event’s sponsors. Activities will include magic shows, a dunk tank, jumping castles, balloon animals, and sensory stations. Children of all ages are welcome at the Kid’s Fair.
Dickinson’s own High Plains Dental is hosting an Outdoor Family Movie Night on August 12th at 7:30 pm. The feature presentation will be The Croods: A New Age and doors will open at 6:30 pm. The movie night will be set up at the Biesiot Activities Center and concessions will be available on-site. Outside food and drinks are prohibited and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you’re visiting Dickinson this August, then we highly recommend treating your family to one of the events above. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, we’d love to host you at the Astoria Hotel and Event Center.
