‘Tis the season for holiday events! If you’re spending Christmas in Dickinson this year, then you’re in luck because there are plenty of festive activities taking place all over town. From a Christmas event with alpacas to a family-friendly Grinch-themed party, check out four ways to spend the holidays in Dickinson.

Christmas Lights Drive-Thru Event

CountryHouse Residence in Dickinson is hosting the Christmas Lights Drive-Thru Event on December 18th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This COVID-safe event will feature live music, photo opportunities, and an appearance by Santa and his elves. There will also be free hot cocoa and a free holiday gift for each child.

Downtown Christmas Parade of Lights

The Downtown Dickinson Association is pleased to present the Downtown Christmas Parade of Lights. Taking place on December 18th at 5:00 pm, guests can watch as Santa kicks off the parade. This year’s theme is “A Vintage Christmas,” and after the parade is over, The Prairie Hills Mall invites you to their exclusive Santa, S’mores & Bedtime Snores event!

The Dickinson Area Public Library is hosting a festive Grinchmas event on Saturday, December 11th from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. Kids ages 2 to 12 are invited to their Who-jubilee, which will include a screening of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (with popcorn), candy cane hunt, arts and crafts, and an opportunity to meet the real live Grinch! The event is free to attend and children are encouraged to come dressed in green or in their best Who costumes.

Christmas with the Alpacas

Spend Christmas with the Alpacas at Happy Rock Farm. 2021 marks the farm’s 3rd annual Christmas with the Alpacas event, which allows guests to take photos of and with the adorable alpacas, who are dressed in their Christmas best. Not only that, but there will be an appearance by Santa, concessions on-site, a farm store, and plenty of festive holiday decor. Christmas with the Alpacas is taking place Saturday, December 11th from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.

If you’re visiting Dickinson this December, then be sure to attend any of the holiday events above. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, we’d love to have you at the Astoria Hotel and Event Center.
