If there’s one thing Dickinson, North Dakota knows how to do, it's celebrate the holiday season. From festive light displays to the annual Jingle Bell Walk/Run, check out this list of the top three holiday events in Dickinson for 2020.

Vintage Christmas Open House

Enjoy a vintage Christmas tree lights display at the Joachim Museum at the Dickinson Museum Center. Vintage Christmas Open House takes place annually at this local Dickinson museum and admission is entirely free of charge. This year’s event will occur on December 4 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Old-Fashioned Christmas Stroll and Parade of Lights

Head to downtown Dickson this December for the Old-Fashioned Christmas Stroll and Parade of Lights. This annual holiday event promises to be fun for the whole family. There will be live Christmas carolers, vendor booths, a parade, and warm beverages like hot chocolate and hot toddies available for purchase. Although the exact schedule for the 2020 event is TBD, past year’s fun has included hay rides, an ornament craft for kids, a visit from Santa Claus, and of course, the annual Christmas tree lighting at the corner of Sims & Villard. This year’s Old-Fashion Christmas Stroll and Parade of Lights will take place on December 5.

Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk

Dress up in festive attire, get some exercise, and contribute to your community through Dickinson’s annual Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk event. Hosted by the West River Community Center in conjunction with Dickinson Parks and Recreation, this holiday run/walk encourages locals and visitors alike to get active and don their finest Christmas attire. The race starts at 10:30 am sharp on December 5, and everyone will be given a jingle bell upon arrival. Further, all of those who registered by November 18 will be gifted a free long-sleeved race shirt. Registration can be done in advance online or in-person on the day of the event.
