Dickinson has a population of approximately 25,000 people and is considered the gateway to the 70,000 acre Theodore National Park and its many recreational opportunities. The southwestern  North Dakota Badlands have a variety of trees, brush, flowers, rugged landscapes, great trails and primitive campsites .  There are over 1.5 million acres of public land that are available for a variety of experiences.  As well, Dickinson has fun-filled attractions, popular annual festivals, outdoor summer concerts and street fairs!

Check out the Badlands Dinosaur Museum which houses thousands of rock, mineral and fossil specimens, including a complete, real Triceratops skeleton. Open year-round, Monday-Saturday 9 am - 5 pm.  As well, take a peek at the Pioneer Machinery Hall which features the early ranching and agricultural history and the Prairie Outpost Park with 5 historic and 6 reproductive buildings located on a 12 acre park.  Open seasonally.

Definitely visit the Ukrainian Cultural Institute where handcrafted eggs with exquisite detail are displayed. The "Pyskany" Easter egg collections are full of color and design: each one telling a unique story.  Embroidery and other crafts are displayed.  Open year-round, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

For any men wanting a haircut, definitely try out De Porres House of Barbering and Lounge, a unique combination of old school barbershop with a lounge!  They apparently have changing offerings of craft beer on tap as well as other beers, wine, cigars, and old fashioned sodas!...interesting.

If coffee is your thing and you love drives in the open countryside, visit Dickinson.com/Coffee Cruise for area attractions and interactive maps that direct you to different coffee shops along the OLD RED OLD SCENIC HIGHWAY.  It is approximately a 130 mile drive that spans the distance between Mandan, Hebron, Richardton,  Dickinson, Belfield and Medora.  Then you can go to #NDCoffeeCruise for further info, share some pictures and give your own reviews.

Try to find time to stop at Fluffy Fields which is Southwest ND's first year full service winery offering North Dakota wine and beer, as well as domestic.  They also have daily food specials.
